This Cookie Policy explains how Sawyer AP uses cookies and similar browser storage.
Some storage is necessary for site features to work securely. Other storage, including Google Analytics, is optional and is used only with your permission.
Optional Analytics cookies
Sawyer AP uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use the site.
Google Analytics remains off unless you select Accept Analytics.
If you accept, Google Analytics may place first-party cookies such as:
_ga, used to distinguish visitors_ga_*, used to maintain session information
Google’s default expiration for these cookies is up to two years, although browser settings and restrictions may shorten that period.
Sawyer AP uses Analytics for site measurement only and does not use it for personalized advertising.
Necessary site and security storage
Contact form
The Sawyer AP contact form uses a short-lived session cookie to protect the form and help prevent unauthorized submissions. This cookie is necessary for the contact form to work securely and expires when your browser session ends.
Privacy Choices
Sawyer AP stores your Analytics preference in your browser so the site can remember whether you accepted or declined Analytics.
This preference does not identify you and expires periodically, after which you may be asked to choose again.
MailerLite and reCAPTCHA
The newsletter signup uses MailerLite and Google reCAPTCHA.
These services may use cookies or browser storage to display the signup form, remember form state, process submissions, and protect the form from spam and automated abuse.
This functionality is separate from Sawyer AP’s optional Google Analytics.
Legacy Captivate lessons
Some preserved Adobe Captivate lessons may use local or session browser storage to support media playback and lesson functionality.
This storage is separate from Analytics.
Changing your choice
You can select Privacy Choices in the footer at any time to accept, decline, or change your Analytics preference.
If you decline or withdraw Analytics consent, Sawyer AP stops optional Analytics activity and removes known Sawyer AP Analytics cookies where the browser permits.
Declining Analytics does not prevent you from using the contact form, newsletter signup, tutoring links, lessons, or other core site features.
External websites
Sawyer AP links to external services such as Google Calendar, Google Forms, Stripe, Patreon, and others.
Simply following a link from Sawyer AP does not make those services part of Sawyer AP’s own cookie system. Once you visit an external service, its own cookie and privacy practices apply.
